Schitts Creek
Wow, it is starting to get overly political in all my media circles and it has been so tough for me. I personally have a really hard time with the loving LDS culture we are in when they start throwing around 'baby killers' and 'BLM is communism' etc. I have a decent amount of liberal followers or bipartisan but the majority are definitely conservative because I grew up in Utah. This is totally an observation but I feel that those who grew up only around conservatives are even more likely to throw ideas like that because they do not have any close neighbor that they are able to recognize their differences. I think it comes down to being scared with things or people that are unfamiliar to us. (If you are reading this and are super offended or do not fit this mantra, that is totally okay too. I am making an unfair blanket statement for sure.) To be transparent no I did not vote for Trump because I do not believe in his policies, actions or persona but if you did that's okay. My family was split as well.
Because of all the stress of politics and crazy things from everyone my husband and I decided to dive into a good sitcom called Schitts Creek. I just want to say that it has not only been the saving grace for 2020 for me but it is my most favorite show I've ever watched. If you need a good laugh or a little escape from the world go watch it! Also if you've seen it, drop your favorite character below. My fav character is David for sure. And honestly I'm just sad I didn't watch this sooner.

I had to skip down to this post when I saw that it was about Schitt's Creek. I am absolutely obsessed with this show. I'm on my third rewatch right now, making my roommate watch it. I really do love this show because it gives me a look (albeit a probably skewed look but a look nonetheless) at the world through a perspective I feel that I am overly protected from in the LDS culture with characters who are so different than me. Plus they are hilarious and I love them all SO MUCH.
